Blue Raddish is about living and doing.
My mother tells me I wanted to be an artist for much of my growing up -- though my parents harnessed these desires by encouraging me to pursue a field of study that would provide a better means for paying bills (blah, blah, blah....). Off to business school I went. The good news is that my day job has afforded me the luxury to pursue my passion....Blue Raddish.
There was a day in 2000 that I realized I wasn't going to just dream incessantly about building my own little empire, but I was going to do it! From this moment on, Blue Raddish came to life in my imagination. I have always been a creator in one way or another -- but from this moment on, I had a vision for my creations.
Thanks to my husband, Chris, and his insistence that I spend more than 60 seconds choosing a name for my creations, Blue Raddish was coined in February 2002 during a five-hour road trip and many a list of colors, fruits and vegetables. I wanted a name that was both ironic, yet organic and I must say....I am delighted with our final selection. To this day, my husband continues to be the world's best unpaid consultant and critic.
Simply put, Blue Raddish is my way of expressing life.
Life can be dangerously serious if we don't pay close attention. Life changes courses and directions mid-stream and we all must be ready and willing to pull humor out of our sleeve.
My art work reflects my desire for youth, color, whimsy and my craving for continuous change and reinvention.
Whether you are destined for greatness within four carpeted cubical walls, or are at home with misbehaving children, I hope our artwork provides a glimpse of hope and inspiration every day of your life.
