There were four adults and eight boys on our back country adventure. Some of us knew each other well and some of us didn't. This was an ideal mix as some of us had a lot to learn about each other's lives. And when you walk 100 miles over two weeks, you are looking for new content. I am grateful that we all got along so well.
On day two or so, I was describing what is feels like to be a self-diagnosed hypo-maniac. I didn't use those exact words, but I explained that I was grateful for this long hike and that I hoped to be worn out as it is hard to wear myself out without a lot of intention. His response was classic: So, you are kind of like a human border collie?
According to AI, he may be spot on...
It's worth noting that Border Collies are highly active and require plenty of mental and physical stimulation. They thrive in environments where they have a job or purpose to fulfill, and they may become bored or exhibit behavioral problems if not given adequate outlets for their energy.
