8. The story of hands

Prosper the work of our hands for us.

Prosper the work of our hands.

Psalm 90

At mass a couple of days ago, these words from Psalm 90 caught my attention. For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with hands. Fast forward to this last weekend and I got to see five aunties and an uncle. And I got to stare at their hands. What a gift. I have few pictures from the event, but the pictures I do have are of hands.

Our life's work is done with our hands.

Hugs are better when people use their hands.

Hands deserve to be held.

Our hands age us.

Our handshakes say a lot about us.

Our hands show the world where some of our priorities lie.

Our hands allow us to write what we often can't or don't want to say.

Oftentimes hands reflect what we do for a living.

Hands tell a family story.

Our hands are a beautiful story.

Please look down at your hands...every vein, every scar, every wrinkle. They are yours. No one in the world has hands like yours. May we use our hands wisely today.

Prosper the work of our hands for us.

Prosper the work of our hands.

Psalm 90
