“If you want to bring happiness to the whole world, go home and love your family.”
Mother Teresa
I love meeting new people. I especially love meeting people who don't preach love but rather, live generous lives loving people.
This week I met one of these people. In getting to know her, she shared that her daughter died decades ago. Since that time, her and her husband have fostered, hosted exchange students and have let many others use their home as a place of refuge in times in trouble. In short, she believes that having extra bedrooms in our homes that don't get used is flat-out-silly. Like, why do we have them if no one uses them very often?
She told me that there are so many people who can use a warm bed and a homemade meal....and she has both. She welcomes people into her home that need a fresh new start. She doesn't do laundry and she doesn't fuss with breakfast or lunch, but an evening meal and a bed are on her.
Let's all go home today and love our families. It is a wonderful start.
Love + house + art = here.
